Based in South London, Tanya Brennand-Roper started The Illustration Studio in 2015 during her first trip to Essaouira, the artistic capital of Morocco where she fell for a city full of vibrancy and charm with an infectious passion for art, interiors and ceramics.

Tanya is best known for playing with colour, pattern, print making and hand lettering. She enjoys layering various elements of illustration to create something with a little humour as well as beauty. Other techniques such as drawing with thread have also featured in her work.

She first discovered how to push these combinations whilst studying and later teaching at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

In 2016 she was asked to exhibit at the 'A+: 100 Years of Graphic Communication by Women at Central Saint Martins' which showed graphic design by women who studied or taught at Central Saint Martins from 1910 to 2016.

Later that year, she started learning Modern Calligraphy. It’s an extra element she features in her work and is especially popular in wedding stationary commissions.

At the end of 2018, Tanya collaborated with fashion designer Wiggy Hindmarch, taking her floral illustrations into a range of fabrics which will be a part of Wiggy Kit’s S/S 19 collection.
