Crespidia is located in Crystal Palace, South London, owned by patisserie baker Francesca Marongiu.
Crespidia is a lifestyle shop selling coffee, fresh flowers, fabulous cakes and gorgeous trinkets for your home (including the most beautiful natural soaps and beauty products, also handmade by Francesca).
Francesca approached me to design a logo that would work for the shop front as well as online. The crespidia itself is a yellow pom pom type of flower - the fact they are rather unusual beauties is something the client wanted to include in the design. I wanted to create something calm, considered and inviting with simple shapes and smears of colour. Other finishing touches include, hand written recipes on the back of the business cards and screen printed tote bags.
An incredible opportunity happened at the end of last year, taking my illustrations into textile and fashion design. I was approached by Wiggy Hindmarch, the founder of clothing line Wiggy Kit and together we worked on a series of print designs for the 2019 Spring / Summer collection.
I started by creating various floral illustrations emulating a scattered, fresh cut flowers effect. Flowers such as cosmos, pansies, dahlias, lily of the valley and poppies feature in the final design. The garments are available through the Wiggy Kit website as well as Matches Fashion.
A collaborative project with food writer Max Brearley and myself - creating various food illustrations for Max's online reviews, articles and travel writing as well as his soon to be revamped professional website
'The Pub Diaries'.
